The Book Sale is back!

Donation collections now!

The Friends plan to hold their annual book sale fundraiser in Fall 2024. Bring donations to the library during open hours. (Please don't leave them at the door when we're closed.)

  • As always, the Friends will accept items that are clean, odor-free, and in good condition.
  • We ask that you not donate textbooks, magazines, periodicals, VHS tapes, abridged editions, or items that smell of smoke or mildew
  • If you have a large amount of items, please talk to us to arrange a time for drop-off, so we don't overwhelm Circulation staff.

Save the Date!

Our annual book sale will be Friday and Saturday , September 13 and 14, 2024.

Upcoming meetings

Meetings are held in the library's Third Floor Meeting Room at 2pm. All are welcome.

2024 meeting schedule:

  • April 29
  • May 20
  • June 24
  • August 26
  • September 30
  • October 28
  • November 25

Who are we and what do we do?

Since 1975 the Friends of the North Adams Public Library have helped establish a closer relationship between the library and the public by funding programs and materials not covered in the library budget. One of our major accomplishments was raising the funds to renovate the third floor which provided a meeting room space for public use, a conference room for small meetings, a kitchenette, staff room, literacy offices, and a Special Collection work room.

Some examples are new computers and chairs for patrons and staff, museum passes, a license to show current movies and popcorn machine, stipends for guest presenters on workshops, craft materials and holiday decorations.

We are holding the membership drive in spring of 2024. Please consider renewing your membership when you receive your letter. If you are not currently a member, please consider joining us to support NAPL’s excellent programming. You will find a link for the membership form below.

How can you help?

The Friends have two Fundraisers a year to support our work, a Membership Drive and a book sale.

  • Please consider joining us! Your membership can be limited to just your donation or if you are interested you can be an active member. See the membership form below.
  • Our other main fundraiser is our annual book sale which you can support by volunteering to help with the sale or donating baked goods and of course donating books during our collection period from January to August.
  • The Friends also gratefully accept memorial donations to honor loved ones. These donations are acknowledged on this website.
