The Friends plan to hold their annual book sale fundraiser September 16 & 17, 2022 after two years of pandemic delays! Bring donations to the library during open hours. (Please don't leave them at the door when we're closed.)
"When's the book sale coming back?" is one of the most frequent questions we've fielded over the past two years, and we're happy to be able to answer it now!
Meetings are held in the library's Third Floor Meeting Room at 2pm. All are welcome.
2022 meeting schedule:
Since 1975 the Friends of the North Adams Public Library have helped establish a closer relationship between the library and the public by funding programs and materials not covered in the library budget. One of our major accomplishments was raising the funds to renovate the third floor which provided a meeting room space for public use, a conference room for small meetings, a kitchenette, staff room, literacy offices, and a Special Collection work room.
In 2020 the COVID-19 pandemic forced the Friends to cancel our two primary fundraising events, the membership drive and the book sale. In spite of this we did continue to fund requests from the staff for their virtual and no-contact activities for both the adult and youth departments.
We are holding the membership drive in spring of 2021. Please consider renewing your membership when you receive your letter. If you are not currently a member, please consider joining us to support NAPL’s excellent programming. You will find a link for the membership form below.
In 2020 the Friends approved over $10,000 in expenditures in support of the NAPL.
